Talk instead of type

Let us go through this together, one little step at a time.

Tap each step once you have done it. This is just for you. Nothing is timed, and nothing can go wrong.

1. 1Open a place where you would normally type.
2. 2A text message, an email, or a search box all work.
3. 3Tap inside the box where the words go.
4. 4The keyboard should pop up on the screen.
5. 5Now look for a small microphone icon.
6. 6It looks like the kind a singer holds.
7. 7Let your eyes move along the edge of the keyboard.
8. 8It often sits near the bottom, by the space bar.
9. 9On some phones it sits in a top corner.
10. 10So look over the whole keyboard slowly.
11. 11Found it? Tap the microphone icon one time.
12. 12Your phone may ask to use the microphone.
13. 13If it asks, tap Allow or tap Yes.
14. 14That is normal and safe.
15. 15Now speak in a calm, normal voice.
16. 16Talk like you are talking to a friend.
17. 17Watch your words show up as text on the screen.
18. 18That is the magic part.
19. 19When you are done, you can stop in a few ways.
20. 20You can tap a button that says Done.
21. 21Or you can tap the microphone again.
22. 22Or you can just stop talking and wait a moment.
23. 23Any one of these works fine.
24. 24Now read over your words.
25. 25Did one word come out wrong? You can fix it.
26. 26Tap on that word and change it, just like typing.
27. 27You do not need to redo the whole thing.
