Turn it off and on when something is stuck
A restart can help when an app or device gets stuck. It does not fix every fault. It closes open work, so save first if you can. Do not turn off a device during an update that says to leave it on.

Try closing the stuck app first. If you need a restart, use the normal menu when it still works. A forced shutdown may lose unsaved work.
