How do I plan a big gift purchase?
Plan the cost and timing of a larger gift.
Start with a spending limit and the date you need the gift. Include tax, delivery and any setup or supplies it needs.
ChatGPT can help with a sample plan. A $160 gift fund with $60 already saved needs $100 more. At $20 a week, that takes five weeks.
Check that the saving amount fits after your needs and bills. If the timing does not work, change the gift or date. You do not have to borrow to meet a gift plan.

- Check the $100 gap and five-week plan.
- Check a real gift's full price and delivery date with the seller.
- Use a general interest to ask for ideas. Leave names and private dates out.
Sample gift goal: $160 in total. I have $60 and can set aside $20 each week. Show how many weeks I need. Ignore interest. Do not suggest borrowing or guess a product price.
