How do I delete an old ChatGPT chat I do not want?
Remove one chat after checking what you will lose.
Treat deleting a chat as final. If you only want to hide it from the list, look for Archive instead.
A chat can be gone while a saved memory or file still has some of its details. Check those places too.
Try this
- Open the chat and check its title and contents.
- Copy anything you need into a private note.
- Open that chat's menu and choose Delete if shown.
- Read the confirmation. Check that it names one chat, not all chats or the account.
- Confirm only if that is what you want.
- Check that the chat is gone from your list.
