Signing up means making your own account. We will go slow. We will take one small step at a time. You cannot break anything.

On most phones and computers
  1. First, make sure you have an email address.
  2. No email yet? You can make a free one, like Gmail, first.
  3. Look for a button that says Sign up or Create account.
  4. It is often near the top corner.
  5. Tap or click that button.
  6. Type your email address in the box.
  7. Take your time and check the spelling.
  8. Make a password in the next box.
  9. Try at least eight letters or numbers.
  10. Pick a password you do not use anywhere else.
  11. Choose something you can remember.
  12. If asked, type the same password again to be sure.
  13. You may be shown a code. It is sent to your email.
  14. Some sites send it as a text instead.
  15. A code only appears because you are signing up right now.
  16. So it is safe to type in.
  17. Type that code in the box.
  18. Then look for a button like Continue, Next, or Done.
  19. Tap that button.
  20. Some sites send a 'confirm your email' message.
  21. If so, open your email and find that message.
  22. Tap the link inside.
  23. That is it. You have your account. Well done.

Buddy’s tip

Write your email and password on paper. Keep it in a safe spot, away from your computer. Do not stick it to the screen. There is no shame in that. Buddy does it too.

Only type a code you just asked for. Never read a code aloud to someone who phones you.
