ChatGPT gave a weird answer that made no sense. Why?
You will learn why odd answers happen and how to get a clear one.
A strange answer is not your fault. It happens sometimes.
ChatGPT may have misread your question. Or it filled a gap with a guess.
The fix is simple. Ask again with a few more details.
You can also just say the answer made no sense. It will try a fresh way.
Try this
- Tell it: that answer did not make sense to me.
- Add one or two details about what you meant.
- Ask it to explain in very simple words.
A message you can copy
That answer did not make sense to me. I meant [what you really meant]. Please explain it again in very simple words.
Paste the message into ChatGPT, then fill in any blanks before you send it. ChatGPT opens in a new tab. Opening it does not send the message.

A confusing answer is just a sign to ask again with more detail.
