It is smart to pause before clicking. Good for you.

Most links from ChatGPT are fine. But it can still get a web address wrong.

A link is safest when it goes to a name you already know and trust.

If a link looks odd or asks for money or a password, do not click it.

Try this
  1. Look at the link and see if you know the name in it.
  2. If you are unsure, ask ChatGPT what the link is for.
  3. Never type passwords or card numbers just because a link asked.
  4. When in doubt, search the name yourself in a new tab.
A message you can copy

You shared a link. Can you tell me in simple words where it goes and why it is safe?

Paste it into ChatGPT, then change the words in brackets to fit you. It opens in a new tab, so you will not lose this page.
