What to do if you shared something private with ChatGPT

You will get calm steps to take after sharing too much by mistake.

First, take a breath. This happens, and you are going to be okay.

ChatGPT does not know who you are or where you live. It is not a person watching you.

Still, it is good to be careful. You can delete the chat to clear it from view.

If you shared a password or bank number, change that password and call the company. That is the safe next step.

Try this
  1. Stop and stay calm. One message is rarely a big problem.
  2. Delete the chat that has the private details in it.
  3. If it was a password, change it on that account now.
  4. If it was bank or card info, call your bank to be safe.
