What does 'free AI' really cost me?
Check money, data and time before you choose a free AI tool.
Some free AI tools limit use. Some show ads, offer paid upgrades or use data in ways you may not want. Read the terms for the actual tool; these rules are not the same everywhere.
A free trial may turn into a paid plan. Check when charges start, how much they are and how to cancel before you give payment details.
Also allow time to check the AI's work. A quick answer can still contain errors. Paying for a tool does not remove that need or prove that your data is private.
- Find the plan's price, limits and trial end before signing up.
- Read its privacy choices and the access needed for your task.
- Write down the cancellation route. If you choose a trial, set your own reminder before the charge date.
- Keep the cancellation confirmation if you cancel. Check later statements; do not assume deleting an app ended the plan.
