You do not need to be a tech expert. Your care and common sense are enough.

Teach kids one main idea. AI can be wrong, so always double check what it says.

Remind them to never share private things. No real names, schools, addresses, or photos.

Keep it light and open. Tell them they can always ask you if something feels odd.

Try this
  1. Sit together and try ChatGPT once, side by side.
  2. Ask the child what feels safe and what feels strange.
  3. Make one simple family rule. Never share private details.
  4. Say they can come to you anytime, with no trouble.
A message you can copy

Explain to a 10 year old why they should never share their full name or address with an AI. Keep it short and kind.

Paste it into ChatGPT, then change the words in brackets to fit you. It opens in a new tab, so you will not lose this page.
