How to know if a ChatGPT answer is true

You will learn easy steps to double-check an AI answer before trusting it.

ChatGPT is helpful, but it is not always right. It can sound sure and still be wrong. So it is smart to check important answers.

For facts that matter, look them up somewhere else too. A quick search on a trusted site can confirm what it said.

You can also ask ChatGPT to explain how it knows. Ask it where the idea comes from. This helps you judge the answer.

Trust your own sense too. If something feels off, dig a little deeper. There is no harm in checking twice.

Try this
  1. For important facts, do not stop at one answer.
  2. Search the same thing on a trusted website.
  3. Ask ChatGPT to explain its reasoning.
  4. Compare what you find and look for agreement.
  5. If it still seems off, ask a person you trust.

You gave me this answer: [paste the answer here]. Can you explain how you know this is correct, and what I could check to be sure?

Paste it into ChatGPT, then change the words in brackets to fit you. It opens in a new tab, so you will not lose this page.
