Does ChatGPT remember everything I tell it?

You will understand AI memory and how to turn it off if you wish.

2 min read Always free

ChatGPT can remember some things to help you, but you can control it.

Your chats are usually saved in your own account so you can read them again.

It may also keep small notes, called memory, to make replies fit you better.

If that feels like too much, you can turn memory off or delete chats anytime.

Try this
  1. Open ChatGPT and go to the settings area.
  2. Look for a section called memory or personalization.
  3. Turn memory off if you prefer a clean slate each time.
  4. To remove past chats, delete them from your chat list.
