Will ChatGPT report me or share what I say?

You will feel calmer knowing what happens to the words you type.

It is normal to wonder this. The good news is, ChatGPT is not a person watching you.

It will not call anyone or report you. It just answers what you type.

The company that makes it may keep chats to improve the tool. So it is wise not to type secrets.

Skip sharing things like your full bank number, passwords, or a Social Security number. Keep those private.

Try this
  1. Use ChatGPT for questions, ideas, and practice.
  2. Leave out passwords and full account numbers.
  3. If you must share something, change the private parts first.

I want to ask about [your topic] but keep my private details out. Can you help me with general advice that does not need personal information?

Paste it into ChatGPT, then change the words in brackets to fit you. It opens in a new tab, so you will not lose this page.
