What does "private" mean for my chats?
Understand who can and cannot see what you type to ChatGPT.
Private means other people in your life cannot see your chats. Your family and friends do not see them. Your chats stay inside your own account.
The company that makes ChatGPT can store your chats. They may use them to make ChatGPT better. So it is not a total secret.
A simple rule helps here. Do not type things like full bank numbers or passwords. Treat it like a helpful stranger, not a vault.
