Send a text message

Let us go through this together, one little step at a time.

Tap each step once you have done it. This is just for you. Nothing is timed, and nothing can go wrong.

1. 1Find your Messages app on your screen.
2. 2Look for a small speech-bubble icon.
3. 3Tap it once to open it.
4. 4The app is almost always called Messages.
5. 5A few Android phones call it Messaging.
6. 6Look for a button to start a new message.
7. 7It is often a pencil or a plus sign.
8. 8Tap it. A new, empty message will open.
9. 9Find the To box at the top.
10. 10Tap a saved contact's name if you see it.
11. 11Or type their full phone number, with the area code.
12. 12Tap the wide empty box at the bottom.
13. 13Type your short note there.
14. 14To add a photo, look for a small camera or plus icon.
15. 15Tap it, then pick a picture.
16. 16When you are ready, look for the send button.
17. 17It is a small arrow, usually blue or green.
18. 18Tap it once to send your note.
