Will ChatGPT remember my name later?
You will learn whether ChatGPT remembers your name in a new chat.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It depends on a memory setting.
If memory is on, it may recall your name later. If not, it starts fresh.
Either way, you can simply tell it your name again. That always works.
Try this
- Open ChatGPT.
- Tell it your name at the start of your chat.
- In a new chat, say your name again if needed.
- Do not worry if it forgets. Just remind it.
A message you can copy
My name is [your first name]. Please call me by my name in this chat.
Paste the message into ChatGPT, then fill in any blanks before you send it. ChatGPT opens in a new tab. Opening it does not send the message.
Buddy says
Only share your first name. You do not need to give more.
