Can I rename my ChatGPT chats to find them later?
Give a saved chat a name you will recognize.
A short, clear title can help you find a chat. Changing the title does not change its messages.
The rename control can be in the chat's menu. Its place varies by app.
Try this
- Find the saved chat in your list.
- Open its menu. On a phone, a long press may show it.
- Choose Rename if shown.
- Type a short name such as 'Garden plan'. Save the change.
- Check that the new name appears in the list.
- In the Mac desktop app, Command+Option+R is the rename shortcut.

Avoid putting private details in a title that others might see on your screen.
