Learn what scams are and simple ways to stay safe.

A scam is a trick. Someone tries to get your money or your private details by lying to you.

Scams come by email, text, phone, or fake websites. They often rush you or scare you on purpose.

Some scammers now use AI to write nicer-looking messages. But the same safe habits still protect you well.

Try this
  1. Slow down. A real company will not rush or threaten you.
  2. Never share passwords or bank details with someone who contacts you first.
  3. If unsure, do not click. Ask a trusted person or look up the company yourself.
  4. Delete messages that feel wrong. You can always ignore them.
A message you can copy

I got a message that asks for my details and feels strange. Can you help me understand if this might be a scam and what questions I should ask myself?

Paste it into ChatGPT, then change the words in brackets to fit you. It opens in a new tab, so you will not lose this page.

If a message feels scary or too good to be true, it is okay to stop and ask someone you trust.
