Can ChatGPT turn a recipe into a shopping list?
Turn recipe ingredients into a checked buy-list.
Give ChatGPT the recipe's ingredient list, amounts and serving count. It can organize a list, but may omit an item or change a unit.
Sample: a recipe needs two eggs and 200 g flour. You have one egg and 50 g flour. Buy one egg and 150 g flour for this sample.
Check each item against the recipe. Review pack sizes, labels and what you can safely use at home. Do not turn a weight into a volume without a valid conversion.
- Use the sample in ChatGPT.
- Check both remaining amounts.
- Use a recipe you are allowed to share.
- Compare every ingredient and unit before shopping.
Sample recipe needs two eggs and 200 g flour. I have one egg and 50 g flour. Make the buy-list. Keep the units and do not add ingredients.
Paste the message into ChatGPT, then fill in any blanks before you send it. ChatGPT opens in a new tab. Opening it does not send the message.
The amount needed for a recipe can differ from the size of a pack you buy.
