How do I start a fresh new chat in ChatGPT?
Open a new chat for a separate topic.
New chat gives you a separate place to ask. It does not delete old chats or switch off memory.
Copy anything you need before leaving a chat. Temporary or unsaved work may not be there later.
Try this
- Choose New chat. Open the side menu if you cannot see it.
- In the Mac desktop app, Command+N is a New chat shortcut.
- Choose Chat for a simple question if a mode choice appears.
- Give the new topic and the few facts it needs.
- Send your question and check the answer.
