How do I start a fresh chat in ChatGPT?
Begin a new topic without mixing it with the last one.
New chat opens a separate conversation. It does not delete your old chats.
Memory or saved instructions may still affect a new chat. A blank page does not mean all past context is gone.
Try this
- Save a private copy of anything you need from the current chat.
- Choose New chat. Open the side menu if you cannot see it.
- If a Chat or Work choice appears, use Chat for a simple question.
- Write the new topic and the few facts it needs.
- Choose Send and check the reply.
Buddy says
New chat, Temporary Chat, and deleting a chat are different actions.
