How do I get ChatGPT to try a different answer?
Get a new version and compare what changed.
You can ask for a new version in a follow-up. A Retry or Try again option may also be in the reply's menu.
A new answer may repeat the same error. More tries also use your account's allowance.
Try this
- Copy the first version if you want to keep it.
- Say what should change and what should stay.
- Send the follow-up, or use the reply's retry option if offered.
- Read the new version and compare the changed part.
- Check any facts before you use it.
A message you can copy
Try a new version about [topic]. Change [part that did not fit]. Keep [key facts]. Do not guess missing details.
Paste the message into ChatGPT, then fill in any blanks before you send it. ChatGPT opens in a new tab. Opening it does not send the message.
Buddy says
A typed request gives you room to explain why the first answer did not fit.
