Using ChatGPT when typing is hard
Use speech when typing is hard.
Voice chat lets you speak and hear replies when it is available. Its controls and limits vary by app and account.
You may still need to tap to start or stop. Dictation is another choice: speak a draft, check it, then send.
Try this
- Open a chat and look for a voice option.
- If it is shown, start voice and review the mic request.
- Ask one short question. Listen to the reply.
- Use the stop or end voice control when you are done.
- If voice is missing, try your keyboard's dictation mic or use text.
A message you can copy
Please use short, plain sentences. Answer one part at a time. Wait for me to ask for more.
Paste the message into ChatGPT, then fill in any blanks before you send it. ChatGPT opens in a new tab. Opening it does not send the message.

Buddy says
You do not need to share your screen to ask a spoken question.
