What the buttons on the ChatGPT screen do
Learn the few controls you need for a first chat.
Start with the message box and Send. You can learn the other tools as you need them.
The box may be in the middle of a new page or at the bottom of an open chat.
Try this
- Find the empty message box and click or tap inside it.
- Type one short question.
- Read it, then choose Send, often an up arrow.
- Use New chat for a new topic.
- Open the side menu to find saved chats. Extra tools depend on your account.
