How do I report a wrong or unhelpful answer?
Report a problem and check the answer separately.
A thumbs-down option may let you flag a reply. It is not a guarantee that someone will reply or fix it.
Asking ChatGPT to check itself can help, but it is not an outside fact check.
Try this
- Keep the wording of the part that seems wrong.
- Open feedback near the reply, if it is offered.
- Read what will be shared. Add a short note without private details.
- For a new answer, send a follow-up that names the problem.
- Check important claims with the original source or a qualified person.
A message you can copy
The part about [claim] may be wrong. Check it against a source I can open. If you cannot verify it, say so.
Paste the message into ChatGPT, then fill in any blanks before you send it. ChatGPT opens in a new tab. Opening it does not send the message.
