How to turn off the talking voice in ChatGPT
You will learn how to keep ChatGPT quiet and just read its answers.
There are two common ways ChatGPT speaks: Read aloud plays a written reply, while Voice is a live chat.
To stop Read aloud, use its playback controls. To end Voice, use the exit control.
Lowering volume only quiets the speaker. It does not end a voice chat or stop the microphone.
Try this
- Check whether you started Read aloud or Voice.
- Stop playback, or exit the voice chat.
- To stop Voice starting on its own, check Settings, then Voice, for Start with Voice and turn it off if shown.
