How do I sign out of ChatGPT on a shared computer?
Sign out and check that the session has ended.
A shared computer may let the next person open an account you left signed in.
Closing a tab is not the same as signing out. Downloads and copied text can remain on the device.
Try this
- Save only the work you need in a place you control.
- Open your ChatGPT account menu and choose Log out or Sign out.
- Reopen chatgpt.com and check that your account is no longer open.
- Sign out of any email or other account you used to log in.
- Remove your private downloads and notes from the shared device.
- Close your browser windows when done.
