How to log out of ChatGPT when you are done
Sign out of ChatGPT and check that it worked.
Sign out when you finish on a shared device. Closing the tab alone does not sign you out.
Logging out ends that sign-in. It does not erase files you downloaded or text you copied elsewhere.
Wait for the screen to show that you have signed out.
Try this
- Open your profile or account menu in ChatGPT.
- Choose Log out or Sign out.
- Check that your account is no longer open.
- If it fails, keep the device with you and try again. Close your tabs once sign-out is confirmed.
