How do I make sure I have the real ChatGPT app?
Learn how to find the official ChatGPT app.
A copied name or logo can make a fake app look real. Reviews and download counts are not proof.
Type chatgpt.com in your browser and use its official app download link.
Check that the store listing names OpenAI as the publisher. Read before signing in or agreeing to a paid plan.
Try this
- Type chatgpt.com yourself.
- Follow the app download link from that site.
- Check the store publisher and listing.
- Choose free use if that is what you want.
- Stop if you cannot verify the app.
A message you can copy
Explain what an app publisher is in one short paragraph.
Paste the message into ChatGPT, then fill in any blanks before you send it. ChatGPT opens in a new tab. Opening it does not send the message.
Buddy says
Do not enter a password into an app you doubt. Start again from the official site.
