How to ask ChatGPT for steps in order
You will learn to ask for numbered steps so you never lose your place.
A how-to is easier when the steps are in order. Then you know what comes first.
You can ask ChatGPT to number the steps. Numbered steps are simple to follow.
If a step feels confusing, just ask about that one number. You stay in control.
Try this
- Tell ChatGPT the task you want to do.
- Ask for the steps in order, numbered 1, 2, 3.
- Ask it to keep each step short and clear.
- Follow one number at a time.
A message you can copy
Please show me how to [your topic]. Give me the steps in order, numbered 1, 2, 3. Keep each step short and simple.
Paste the message into ChatGPT, then fill in any blanks before you send it. ChatGPT opens in a new tab. Opening it does not send the message.
Buddy says
If a step loses you, ask ChatGPT to explain just that number.
