Open ChatGPT on your own

Step 1 of 6

Opening your saved place…

Before we start

Start with the real ChatGPT website.

You can read this lesson without a ChatGPT account. When ready, you can open its site in a new tab.

Type chatgpt.com in your browser address bar. Read the address before you sign in.

ChatGPT has a free plan with limits. You do not need to buy an upgrade for this lesson.

One step at a time

A browser works on a phone, tablet, or computer. You do not need to install an app to try the site.

If you want the app, start with the links at chatgpt.com/download. Check that the store lists OpenAI as the publisher.

WebsiteType chatgpt.com in the address bar.

Official appUse the app-store link from chatgpt.com/download.

An icon or a familiar name alone does not prove an app is real.

Starting example

I will open the first search result.

Ask how to reach the official site on your device.

Revised request

I use a tablet. How can I reach the real ChatGPT site?

An example AI reply

Open your browser. Type chatgpt.com in its address bar. Check the address, then read the page. You can use the website on a tablet.

This is an example of clear guidance. Check the actual address yourself; a reply cannot prove the page you opened is real.

Try it here

Write the site address and the device you plan to use. You can do this without leaving the lesson.

Your practice box, just for you. Your draft saves in this browser. This box is not AI. Leave private details out.

Leave out passwords, codes, and other private details.

Start with a few words, or look at the example first.
