Read your email address slowly, one letter at a time.

Check that Caps Lock is off, since passwords care about big letters.

The safe reset

Two safe moves before you ask ChatGPT.

Move one is for a wrong password. Look for the words "Forgot password" near the sign-in box.

Click those words yourself. Do not let anyone else do it for you.

Then open your email and look for a reset link.

Only click that link if you just asked for it this minute. If a reset email arrives that you did not ask for, delete it.

Move two is for a locked screen. If it says "locked" or "too many tries," stop.

More tries only make it worse. The screen is just resting.

Wait the time it shows you, or wait about an hour.

Then use "Forgot password" again, slowly and calmly.
