How do I track my blood pressure at home simply?
Use a checked monitor and record readings without changing them.
Ask your care team which monitor and cuff size suit you. Have them check your technique and tell you when to measure.
Follow the device and care team's steps. Record the date, time, top number and bottom number in mm Hg. Keep both readings if you take two.
ChatGPT can make a blank chart. Fill it in privately. A chat cannot measure your pressure, alert your team or decide a medicine change.
- Use your team's method and timing for the readings.
- Write each result as shown, with its time and any symptoms.
- Keep the log in one place; do not omit a result because it is high.
- Ask how and when to share it with your care team.
- Get a written plan for readings or symptoms that need prompt help.
Make an empty blood pressure log. Use columns for date, time, top number in mm Hg, bottom number in mm Hg, and symptoms or notes. Leave the readings blank.
Paste the message into ChatGPT, then fill in any blanks before you send it. ChatGPT opens in a new tab. Opening it does not send the message.

For adults, if the top is over 180 or bottom over 120, take action. With symptoms such as chest or back pain, trouble breathing, numbness, weakness, or sight or speech changes, call emergency services now. If you have no symptoms, wait one minute and recheck. If still that high, call your care team right away. Your own plan may set lower limits.
