Understand the word your doctor wrote on your chart

You will learn how to make sense of words on your own records.

2 min read Always free

Medical charts use big words. They can look like a foreign language. You have every right to understand your own records.

ChatGPT can take those words and explain them simply. You can paste in one word or a whole line.

It is not a doctor. It may not have all the facts. Always check the meaning with your doctor.

Try this
  1. Open ChatGPT in your web browser.
  2. Type the word or line from your chart.
  3. Leave out your name, birth date, and any account or ID numbers. A made-up name is fine.
  4. Ask it to explain in plain, simple words.
  5. Write down anything to ask your doctor.
A message you can copy

My medical chart says: [paste only the part you do not understand, with no name or numbers]. Please explain what this means in plain, simple words a beginner can understand.

Paste it into ChatGPT, then change the words in brackets to fit you. It opens in a new tab, so you will not lose this page.
