Understand the side effects on your medicine
Use the medicine guide and care team for side-effect questions.
A side effect is an unwanted effect a drug may cause. A list of possible effects does not mean you will get them all.
If you have trouble breathing, throat swelling, or another severe reaction now, call your local emergency number. In the U.S., call 911. Do not wait for AI.
For other new or worrying effects, check the drug guide and contact your care team. AI should not decide if your symptoms can wait.
- Keep the drug guide and full label.
- Ask your pharmacist which effects need help and how soon.
- If an effect occurs, note what happened and when.
- Tell the care team the drug, dose, and other products you use.
- Ask what to do about the next dose. Do not guess from a chat.
Help me write three questions for my pharmacist about a drug guide. Ask what effects to watch for, when to get help, and who to call. Do not assess symptoms or choose treatment.
Paste the message into ChatGPT, then fill in any blanks before you send it. ChatGPT opens in a new tab. Opening it does not send the message.

Not every side effect is an allergy. Describe what happened instead of asking AI to name the cause.
