How do I plan a big task over several days?
Split a large task into steps that fit your time.
Give ChatGPT the goal, deadline, available time and any steps that depend on others. Ask it to flag work that cannot fit.
Sample: sort notes for 20 minutes, write a draft for 30, then check it for 10. The steps need 60 minutes in that order.
Check whether the time estimates are realistic. Leave space for delays. If a day has too much work, change the scope or deadline rather than hide the extra work.
- Paste the sample into ChatGPT.
- Check the order and the 60-minute total.
- Add your own task details and real available time.
- Review the plan after each stage and revise what remains.
Sample job: sort notes 20 minutes, then write a draft 30, then check it 10. I have 20 minutes on day one and 40 on day two. Make a plan that fits and keeps the order.

A step can be split if the work allows it. Confirm before moving a dependent task.
