How to plan a grocery trip that costs less
Check grocery savings with actual pack prices.
Give ChatGPT prices you found at your shop. It can compare them, but its own price guesses may be wrong. Use the same units for similar foods.
Sample: 500 g of oats costs $2; 1 kg costs $3. The costs per kg are $4 and $3. The larger pack costs more today.
Check food labels and whether you can use and store the amount. A cheaper unit price is not useful if it leads to waste or exceeds your budget.
- Use the sample below.
- Check each cost per kg and the checkout prices.
- Use current prices and pack sizes for real choices.
- Review the full basket before paying.
Compare sample oats: 500 g for $2 and 1 kg for $3. Show both costs per kg and both pack prices. Do not assume the larger pack is right for me.
Paste the message into ChatGPT, then fill in any blanks before you send it. ChatGPT opens in a new tab. Opening it does not send the message.

A suggested swap still needs to fit the foods you can eat.
