Try a routine from facts to review

Step 1 of 6

Opening your saved place…

Put the parts together

Use one complete sample task.

A routine joins your steps, facts, form and check. Use the garden note here or a small task you know well.

You can inspect the written sample without leaving Mayfield. If you choose to try ChatGPT, copy your request there yourself and compare the real reply.

A request in this lesson’s box has not been tried in ChatGPT. A checked draft also does not mean a message has been sent.

Follow each handoff

Keep the source beside the result.

First read the current source. Resolve needed gaps. Put the task, facts and desired form in the request.

Read the whole reply. Check each fact and instruction against the source. Fix any mismatch and check the full draft again.

When it is ready, decide whether to use it. You may keep it as a draft. If you send it yourself, review the people who will get it too.

PreparedI wrote the request but have no new AI reply.

CheckedI compared a reply with the source and fixed the gaps.

UsedI took the intended action myself and checked that it happened.

Use only needed details in ChatGPT. Add private contact details in your own message tool later if they are needed.

For an unfamiliar task with serious consequences, such as a health or legal choice, get qualified help. A routine check is not a substitute for that expertise.

A complete source

Check this sample garden note.

Made-up current plan: garden helpers meet Saturday at 9 a.m. at the garden shed to weed the beds. They must bring gloves and a small rake. The person will choose whether to send the checked note.

Example message

Draft a short friendly garden note in three lines. Current plan: Saturday, 9 a.m., garden shed, weed the beds, bring gloves and a small rake. Keep all facts and the bring instruction. Add no new facts. I will check the whole draft against this plan before deciding whether to send it myself.

An example AI reply

Hello, garden helpers! Meet Saturday at 9 a.m. at the garden shed. We will weed the beds. Please bring gloves and a small rake.

Day, time, place, job and both tools match. The rake has not become optional. This written sample can be checked here; it is not evidence of a live ChatGPT trial or a sent message.

An optional live trial

Prepare a note and record your stage.

Sample book-club plan: Tuesday at 7 p.m., library room 2, discuss chapters 1 and 2, bring the book. Write a short-note request and your check. To try it, copy only the request. Open ChatGPT with the button below, then paste and send the request there. Keep your check and stage notes here. The button only opens a new tab. Record only what you actually do.

Your practice box, just for you. Your draft saves in this browser. This box is not AI. Leave private details out.

Check day, time, place, chapters and what to bring. If you only write the request, say prepared.

Start with a few words, or look at the example first.

ChatGPT opens in a new tab or window. Keep this lesson open so you can come back.
