Check against a source before you act

Use match, mismatch or not yet known.

A matching field agrees with the source. A mismatch gives a different value or leaves out a needed source fact. If the source gives no value, the answer is not yet known.

List the fields your task needs. For a used-chair listing, that may be the price, size and pickup place. Other tasks need other checks.

Confirm the source is current too. A written height must come from a real measurement before you use it in a real listing.

If a field does not apply, say why. Do not force an invented answer just to complete a checklist.

Pause use of the draft if a needed fact is wrong or missing. Find the fact, correct the draft and check all of it again.

A neat listing still has an open price.

Made-up seller’s notes: reading chair, measured height 30 inches, pickup at the front desk, price not yet chosen. Draft: Reading chair, 30 inches tall, pickup at the front desk.

Find both changes.

Sample plan: Saturday, 9 a.m., garden shed, bring gloves. Draft: Sunday, 9 a.m., garden shed, bring gloves if you have them. Write each needed fix and name what already matches.
