Review the facts, the tool and the job.

Facts: check any date, price, place or rule that the new task needs. Use the current source that owns the fact.

Tool: if the prompt names app steps, compare them with the current screen or official help. A different look alone does not prove the steps are wrong.

Job: compare the prompt with what you want now. Supply your current needs. Do not ask ChatGPT to guess what changed.

Check before each use, and again if key facts change before you act. A seasonal reminder can help you tidy a library; it does not replace a check for today’s task.

Fix every known problem needed for this use. Keep an old copy while editing and recheck the new result.

A rule can help you remember to check. It cannot ensure you find every error. For health advice, ask a qualified clinician. For other major choices, use help suited to the task.

Use evidence for the grocery change.

Made-up saved prompt: “Write a friendly weekly grocery list with some sweet snacks.” Current instruction from the writer: use only a prepared shopping list and add no foods. No product labels or health needs are supplied. The prompt contains no app steps.

Write the rule, not a request for one.

Made-up task: keep a review rule beside a saved event-notice template. Before each use, check the organizer’s current facts, any named app steps and today’s task. Keep an old copy during edits and recheck the reply. Name a possible next helper without claiming you built or saved it.
