One test gives useful clues

Check the job and the facts.

A filled prompt lets you try one case. Keep the facts you used beside the reply so you can compare them.

A good result in one case does not prove that the next one will be right. A saved prompt needs checks on each use.

A real comparison

Do not ask the same AI to be the final judge.

First check the filled request. Are its facts current and its slots filled? Then read the reply against the job you asked it to do.

Check each fact needed before you act, not just one date. A notice may also need the right time, place and sign-up route.

Use the person or source that owns the fact, such as an organizer’s confirmed notice. An old calendar entry may need a fresh check.

ChatGPT may help spot a mismatch. Its “yes” is not proof that a claim is true. Open and read cited sources yourself.

For health or legal advice, use a qualified person and the relevant current source. A neat answer or a trusted friend alone does not settle that question.

Compare against all the facts

A notice can do part of the job and still need a fix.

Made-up organizer notes: the church craft fair is on May 16 in the church hall; volunteers sign up with the event desk. Sample reply: “Come to the church craft fair on May 9 in the hall. Sign up at the front desk.” The job was a short volunteer notice.

The source notes make the mismatches visible. The reply’s short form does not make its date or sign-up route correct.

Separate a count from a health claim

What does this snack-list check establish?

Sample reply to “list three healthy snacks for kids”: apple slices, cheese cubes, carrot sticks. No child’s age, food needs or preparation details are supplied. Choose an answer to see why, then continue. This is practice, not a grade.

Keep the evidence visible

Check the whole book-club notice.

Made-up organizer notes: the book club meets Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the library. New readers are welcome. Reply: “Our book club meets Tuesday at 6 in the library.” Review the job, every fact and any missing detail. Do not say that an actual notice has been verified or sent.
