Turn messy notes into a clear list

Step 1 of 6

Opening your saved place…

Start with your notes

Make the list easier to read.

ChatGPT can help turn a long note into a clear list. It can also drop or change things. You still need to check the result.

Use the made-up notes here. The replies are written samples. You can learn from them without opening ChatGPT.

You write in Mayfield’s practice box. Read the save status to check that your writing was saved. The box does not send to ChatGPT or carry out the chores on your list.

A clearer view can help you find what you need.

Keep the meaning

One entry can include more than one object.

Take this note: lamp, two chairs, box of books, old radio. It has four entries. Two chairs is one entry with a count of two.

Ask for one entry per line. Keep the counts and details with each item. Do not turn two chairs into one chair.

Keep a copy of the source note. Compare each new line with it. A matching line count alone does not prove a match.

ItemTwo chairs, not just chairs.

DetailA box of books, not one book.

ChoiceKeep or donate only when your note says so.

Use only details needed for the task. Leave out private contact or account details. Useful counts do not need to be removed just because they are numbers.

Repeated words may describe separate items. Keep them until you know they are copies of the same entry.

If the source has no items, there is nothing to sort. Do not ask AI to fill an empty list with guessed items.

The choices are already in the notes

Keep the owner’s instructions.

Made-up notes: keep the quilt, donate the lamp, toss the broken fan. The owner has already chosen these actions.

Example message

Put these notes on three separate lines. Keep each item and its action. Add nothing: keep the quilt, donate the lamp, toss the broken fan.

An example AI reply

Keep the quilt. Donate the lamp. Toss the broken fan.

Each line matches an item and action in the notes. The reply did not decide what to throw away. A real disposal task still needs the owner’s choice and local rules.

Prepare a request

Keep every party-list item.

Sample notes: snacks, paper plates, ice, four folding chairs, music. Write a request for one entry per line. Keep all five entries and the chair count.

Your practice box, just for you. Your draft saves in this browser. This box is not AI. Leave private details out.

Give the notes in your request. Then add what you will check yourself.

Start with a few words, or look at the example first.
