An AI helper is a free tool that answers what you type, in plain words. The one we use is called ChatGPT.

Open it now. Type chatgpt.com in your web browser, or tap the app if you have it on your phone. A web browser is the program you use to visit websites.

It may ask you to sign in or pick a plan. That is normal. The free plan is all you need today.

You cannot break a single thing here. We are just going to read one answer slowly, with calm and careful eyes.

The big idea

Sure is not the same as right.

ChatGPT can sound very sure of itself. But sounding sure is not the same as being right.

An answer can go wrong in three small ways. Watch for these three:

Wrongthe fact is simply not true

Made-upChatGPT invented a fact that does not exist

Missinga key part is left out

So look for the part that must be true. It is often a date, a price, a rule, or a step.

For money, health, legal, account, or safety facts, do not trust ChatGPT alone. Ask a real person you trust.

Never type private details, such as your full name, address, account number, or health facts.

A clear request

Look at this answer. Point to the one part stated as a fact, and tell me what to check before I act. Here it is: "For a small day trip, leave by 8am, pack water and snacks, and the museum closes at 5pm."

What the AI sends back

The part stated as a fact is the closing time: "the museum closes at 5pm." Check that on the museum's own website before you go, because hours can change. The rest is safe and low-risk: leaving by 8am and packing water and snacks.

See it? The plan is fine. But the closing time is the one part to check first.
