Act when a sharing problem has happened

Editing helps, but it cannot recall every copy.

Edit or remove the post. Check who can see it. Copies, screenshots or forwarded messages may remain. Deleting your post does not remove them all.

Keep needed proof in a secure place for an abuse report. Use the site’s real report tools. Get local emergency help for an immediate threat.

You can say no to an ordinary request. If a suspect message asks for a password or code, stop contact. You do not need to reply.

If a password or code was shared, get help through the real service now. Change a shared password, including where you reused it. Turn on two-step sign-in if offered. If you cannot sign in, use the service’s recovery steps. AI wording can wait.

Keep the sale facts without inventing a meeting.

Made-up public couch post: Tan couch, $60, good shape, available this week. Come to [home address]. The address field should be removed. No meeting place or buyer priority rule is agreed.

Separate a boundary from a suspect code request.

Here are two made-up messages. An unknown buyer asks for a sign-in code. A known neighbor asks to move the book-club chat to your personal phone. No code was shared. Write the next action for the buyer message. Then write a short reply to the neighbor. Do not type a code or phone number.
