Offer help that fits the situation

Step 1 of 6

Opening your saved place…

You can use the sample

Help comes before polishing a note.

For a small worry, ask if the person wants a note or a chat. You can use a sample here.

If they lost money or shared account access, get the real service’s help now. Do not wait for ChatGPT to write the perfect words.

The cases below are made up. No account or real person needs to be involved to practice.

You can listen and help them reach the right place.

Match help to what happened

A calm approach does not mean delaying help.

Check an unexpected urgent message through a known route. A rushed tone does not prove who sent it. Real services may have deadlines.

If money went to a scammer, contact the bank or payment service used right away. Ask what they can do; do not promise a refund.

If account access was shared, use the real service’s account-help steps. Keep passwords and codes out of your note and the AI request.

Routine worryAsk what kind of help is wanted.

Loss or account riskUse the affected service’s known help route promptly.

Immediate dangerCall your local emergency number.

For threats or online abuse, help the person reach trusted support or a service trained to help. If someone is in danger now, use emergency help. Do not wait for AI wording.

Listen. Let them choose a trusted adult, friend or support service. A relative may not be the right person to tell.

A routine case with clear limits

Offer three useful talking points.

Made-up case: a parent wants help checking unexpected texts and has not shared money or access. Use these points: ask what help they want, leave unexpected links alone while checking through a known route, and get prompt service help if money or access was shared.

Example message

Write three numbered, kind talking points for this made-up parent who wants help with unexpected texts and has not shared money or access. Use these points only: offer to discuss checking; leave unexpected links alone and check through a known route; get prompt service help if money or access was shared. No blame, no promise that real companies never rush, and no claim that waiting is always harmless.

An example AI reply

1. Would you like us to look at a way to check unexpected texts? 2. Leave the text’s links alone and use a route you know is real. 3. If money or account access was shared, get the real service’s help promptly.

The third point changes the next action if the facts change. The note does not promise that all messages can wait.

The situation has changed

What comes first if money was sent?

Made-up case: a relative says they sent money through their bank after a suspect message. They want help now. Choose an answer to see why, then continue. This is practice, not a grade.

Practice the route and the words

Use the supplied family case.

Made-up case: a relative sent money through their bank after an unexpected message and wants help. They have the bank’s known app and their own card. Write the first help route and one kind line to offer. If you want to try ChatGPT, use only this made-up case for wording. A real loss needs bank help now, before any AI step.

Use the bank route already supplied, not a phone number from the unexpected message.

Start with a few words, or look at the example first.
