Useful and private are separate questions.

A fact may help a task and still be private. Check that you need it and that it is okay to share.

Use the made-up notes here. For your own task, review the text before you send it to ChatGPT.

You choose which details leave your notes.

Sort the notes

Keep what this small task needs.

Suppose you want to return a borrowed puzzle. You want to ask if Thursday afternoon suits. The item and day help with that note.

A shopping note does not help. Keep a private door code out too. Remove private details yourself before sharing. Asking AI to remove them sends them first.

Include the task and relevant facts you know.
Leave out unrelated notes.
Review the whole text for private details, not only names.

Use a clean version

The message needs the item and proposed time.

Made-up task: Ask a neighbor about returning a puzzle on Thursday afternoon. Shopping notes and a private door code are left out.

Example message

Write a friendly note in two sentences. Thank a neighbor for lending me a puzzle. Ask if Thursday afternoon would suit them for its return. Add no name or exact time.

An example AI reply

Thank you for lending me the puzzle. Would Thursday afternoon work for me to return it?

Both sentences keep the puzzle and Thursday afternoon. No name or exact time was added. The note asks about a time. It does not show that the neighbor has agreed.

Choose the needed facts

Write a clean request from these notes.

Made-up notes: Thank someone for lending a folding chair. Ask if Friday afternoon suits them for its return. You also have a shopping note about blue paper. Write an ask for a friendly note in two sentences.

Your practice box, just for you. Your draft saves in this browser. This box is not AI. Leave private details out.

Keep the chair and proposed afternoon. Leave out the shopping note.
