Describe the help and the job

Step 1 of 6

Opening your saved place…

Make the task clear

Tell ChatGPT what help you want.

You can ask ChatGPT to be a friendly note helper or a plain-word editor. That describes how you want it to help.

Then name the job. What should it make or change? You can use the full sample here without opening ChatGPT.

Buddy says

Your own plain words are enough to start.

Two useful parts

“Act as a friendly note helper” gives a style of help. “Write a club reminder” names the job.

A role is optional. You can ask for the task in plain words. There is no special phrase you must use.

Calling AI an expert does not prove its answer is right. Give the facts the task needs and check the reply.

RoleBe a friendly note helper.

JobWrite a short club reminder.

FactsFilm club meets Friday at 4 p.m. in Hall 2.

A supplied sample

Made-up notice: Film club meets Friday at 4 p.m. in Hall 2.

Example message

Be a friendly note helper. Write one short reminder using only this notice: Film club meets Friday at 4 p.m. in Hall 2.

An example AI reply

A quick reminder: film club meets Friday at 4 p.m. in Hall 2.

The reply is a reminder and keeps the day, time and hall. It adds no new event details. Comparing it with the notice lets us check those facts.

Try a clear task

Made-up notice: Book club meets Monday at 5 p.m. in Room C. Ask a friendly note helper to write one short reminder. Include all three details.

Your practice box, just for you. Your draft saves in this browser. This box is not AI. Leave private details out.

Name the job, then give Monday, 5 p.m. and Room C.

Start with a few words, or look at the example first.
