Try a clear ask on a small task

Decide what a useful reply needs to keep.

Name the result, source facts and any form that matters. After you get a reply, compare each part.

Keep a note of what you actually did. Writing a request is different from sending it, checking a reply or saving the finished work.

Check the request and all three sentences.

Made-up task: Thank someone for lending a folding table for a book swap. Say you appreciate the help and would like to return the favor. Use three warm sentences.

Keep a note of the check you did.

Review the supplied thank-you note or try a small task of your own in ChatGPT. Start with “Sample review,” “Own try,” or “Not tried yet.” Name what you checked, any problem and a next step. Leave out private details.
