Try a form for your own task

Step 1 of 6

Opening your saved place…

Choose a small task

Use your task or the sample here.

Choose a small task with facts you can check. You might reshape a packing note or a few actions you already know.

You can use the made-up book-swap notes instead. Writing in Mayfield does not send a message to ChatGPT.

The sample is a full way to practice too.

Plan how to check it

Name the form and what must stay.

Choose a form you can use: a list, steps or a short note. Give the source facts and any known order.

Review private details before sharing your own text. After you get a reply, compare it with the source and the form you asked for.

Before a replyI have drafted a request. It is not tried yet.

After a replyI can name what I checked and what still needs a fix.

A complete sample

A reminder in two sentences.

Made-up book-swap notes: Meet Thursday at 3 in the afternoon in Hall A. Bring two books.

Example message

Write a reminder in two sentences. Use only these facts: book swap is Thursday at 3 in the afternoon in Hall A; bring two books. Put the meeting details in the first sentence and what to bring in the second.

An example AI reply

Book swap is Thursday at 3 in the afternoon in Hall A. Please bring two books.

The first sentence keeps the day, time and place. The second keeps the book count. Both sentences match the sample source. This example does not show that your own request has been sent or checked.

Your task or the sample

Draft an ask and name your next check.

Use your own small task, or these made-up notes: A drawing group meets Tuesday at 4 in the afternoon in Room B. Bring two pencils. Ask for a reminder in two sentences, with meeting details first and what to bring second. Add what you will check. If you choose to try it in ChatGPT, copy only your request. Review it before sending. Keep your result note separate. If sign-in or a limit stops you, use the example here.

Your practice box, just for you. Your draft saves in this browser. This box is not AI. Leave private details out.

You can leave your result as not tried yet. A request for a form is not proof that a reply followed it.

Start with a few words, or look at the example first.

ChatGPT opens in a new tab or window. Keep this lesson open so you can come back.
