Send your first hello to AI

Step 1 of 6

Opening your saved place…

Before we start

Try a small first message.

You can practice here first. The box in this lesson saves a draft; it does not send a message to ChatGPT.

When ready, open chatgpt.com in a new tab. Check the address. You can also use the official app.

ChatGPT has a free plan with limits. No paid upgrade is needed for this practice. Read any sign-in or access notice before you go on.

Buddy says

You can take this one step at a time. A short message is enough to start.

One step at a time

Look for the message box. It may say Ask anything or Message. Its place can vary by screen.

Tap or click the box and type your message. Then use Send, which may look like an arrow.

In many computer browsers, Enter sends the message. The Send control is a clear choice if you are unsure.

A greetingHi. I am new to this. Please say hello in one short line.

A direct askGive me one idea for a thank-you note.

You do not have to say hello first. Start with a greeting or a small ask. Keep passwords, codes, and private details out.

Try it here

Write a greeting or a small ask here. This practice box does not send it to ChatGPT.

Your practice box, just for you. Your draft saves in this browser. This box is not AI. Leave private details out.

Use the sample task if you are stuck. Keep private details out.

Start with a few words, or look at the example first.
